BEC First Meet Up; Its a WRAP!

Gimana nih Bang?”

“Mau gw telp satu-satu aja?”

“No need. Kita tunggu aja lah…”

Datang seorang ibu-ibu celingak-celinguk, saya mencoba menyapanya.

“Pagi, Bu.”

“Pagi. Ini klub bahasa Inggris ya?”

“Iya. Ibu namanya siapa?”

“Saya Rochma.”

“Oh, Ibu Rochma! Selamat datang Ibu ke acara BEC Meet Up. Senang bertemu Ibu,” kata saya sembari mempersiapkan registrasi.

“Dev, samperin!” kata Bang Dani.

“Hi, Mbak,” sapa saya sembari menjabat tangannya.

“Deva ya?”

“Yup.”

And again, semuanya itu FREE!

Aamiin!

Setelah acara, Mbak Ollie membalas twit BEC:

[EF #8] The Letter for Younger Me

Dear Younger Me,

How are you? Still busy to keep your achievement in the class and join with the campus organization?

I know, sometimes you feeling sad because you have limited time to go to the mall with your friends. But it’s ok. You can see a few months or a year later, they will come to you. And after that, you will have much time to hang out with them. Yes, your best friends until 10 years after and still counting. Trust me!

7 years after you will take a short trip to Curug Nangka with them. :D
7 years after you will take a short trip to Curug Nangka with them. 😀

I write this letter because I want to say thank you to your effort to be the best student in the colleges. Thank you to keep your spirit as high as you can. If you not doing this, I do not know what going happen today.

Keep up your spirit because you are the one, who will receive all the result of your effort.

Bisous!

[EF #7] Enjoy the Moment

IMG_5947

The picture taken on December, 2014 in Cirebon when I and my friends went to Kasepuhan Palace. We used two pedicabs and pay Rp 10.000,- per each. When suddenly turned around, I saw those two pedicabs drivers chatting while driving the pedicabs. Mmm…maybe I just mellow at that time but when I saw those two drivers, I smile. And talk to myself, “Life is not competition to be won.”

Ah, suddenly I am thinking about Jakarta, a very crowded city and full of the competition and…anger.

Let me tell you the story.

When I want to go to the office this morning, I saw a woman screaming to the bus driver, who push her motorcycle until the woman fall down, mm…not really fall down actually but just shaky a little bit. After that, some people come to help the woman and the bus driver need to pay some compensation to the women.

And the incident like that happens a lot of time in Jakarta.

To be honest, I feel sad every time I saw the incident like this. I am sad some people need to be fighting in the public area and shout some harsh words.

Back to those two pedicabs drivers, I saw peace on their faces. They are not in hurry to do their job. They enjoy the moment.

Well, when is the last time you really enjoy YOUR moment and do you can handle your emotion when meet something out of your expectation?

[EF #6] Alter Ego

logo-design-hotel-alter-ego3Mmm…interesting.

Because I really want to know about this topic, I browse some info about alter ego but I am clueless in the middle of the reading. That’s why I ask my cousin, who take Master Psychology in UNPAD, Bandung. She said that every people have an alter ego, either they realized or not and that’s not the bad thing. Alter ego is one of self-defense mechanism and influenced by the background of our childhood (trauma in the childhood or our parenting history).

My voila moment was when my cousin (her name is Devi, yes Devi and I am Deva:P) give an example about myself:

Her: Dev, let me give you an example. You are career woman and firm. But in the other side, you can act like a child. The ‘childish’ is your alter ego. You rarely to show the other side of you to random person. You only showing ‘the childish’ side on your close person, such as our family and/or your best friends. And nothing wrong with that.

And suddenly I agree with her. And smile silently. 😛

She continues her explanation:

If someone has many identity – let’s say double identity- it because her/his ego strength very low.

***

When I shared this explanation to my best friend, she said: Oh maybe like a very friendly person in the chat room but when we do a meet up, we feel like a stranger and stop talking.

Well…perhaps. Maybe they love to type via phone but not love talking. But I’d prefer to assume that the person not interesting to talk with us rather than think is it her/his alter ego or not. As simple as that.

***

Now, I am looking for my choki-choki! My alter ego calling my name. Hahaha…but wait, are we to old to love choki-choki?

😛

[EF #5] I MEET WITH PASSIONATE LEARNER IN BEC

“Dev, do you have LINE?” that message come up on my WhatsApp.

“No, Bang. What’s up?” I replied to him.

“I want to invite you on LINE to talk about the idea about Blog English Club”

“Oh, but I do not have LINE. Wait for a minute, I will install LINE right away.”

At that time, the member of LINE (as I remember) only 5 persons; Bang Dani, Nita, Ryan, me, and Mas Andik. Bang Dani, Nita, and Ryan told that they want to launch the BEC on January 5 so I as the supporter only said, “Congratulation!” hahaha…
